Fitness Takes A Vacation
by Tom Furman
When you travel you can still stay fit. This is how
Many people go on vacation and come back tired, overfat and with a loss of fitness level. They need a vacation to recover from their vacation. With the following common sense guidelines, I’m saying this doesn’t have to be so.
Here are some questions to ask yourself.
1. Did you do some research about where you are going and staying?
2. Are you a runner, a lifter, a yoga enthusiast or just casual exerciser?
3. Most hotels have gyms. Not all of them are good. Can you train in a sparse environment?
4. Are you in a low crime area? Safety is important.
5. Will you be eating at restaurants or with friends and family?
Here are some strategies —
You should know how much you walk daily by using a pedometer app. During vacations, this should go up. You should be walking more, being a tourist and sight seer. This is a good thing.
Hopefully you will be standing on your feet more. Another plus
Training in the hotel gym during the morning or evening does not matter. One is not superior to the other.
